Who approved Friday!?

Low @nahar

Marko saves your bug reports and UX feedback as pins anchored to real page elements, with annotated screenshots, severities, and comments, so your team can find, fix, and close anything in minutes.

Live review

Leave comments on the fly.

Design, product and engineering review the same live page at once. Every comment opens as a popup pinned to the element it is about, and replies reach the whole team where the problem is.

1

Sign up once

  • Install the extension, click the toolbar icon, hit Get started.
  • Sign up on the web with email and password. The extension picks up your session automatically; no copying tokens.
  • From then on the extension and the web app share one account.
2

Create a project for a site

  • Open the site you're reviewing and click the Marko icon.
  • If a project already exists for that site, Marko shows it with its active and resolved counts.
  • Otherwise one click on Create project for this page starts one and drops you straight into review mode.
3

Pin comments on the live page

  • In comment mode the element under your cursor is outlined, so you see exactly what a pin will attach to.
  • Click it, write the comment, set a severity, mention teammates with @.
  • Marko captures a cropped screenshot of that element and anchors the pin so it survives scrolling and resizing.
4

Discuss and resolve in place

  • Click a pin to open its thread: reply, reassign, change severity, tick resolve.
  • The side panel lists every comment in Active and Resolved tabs and scrolls the page to whichever you pick.
  • The top-right pill resizes your window to any device preset, so you can review every breakpoint.
5

Track it on the board

  • Open in Marko app takes you to the project dashboard.
  • Every project is a kanban board with a column per severity. Drag a card to re-triage it.
  • Filter by status, author, or free text, and export the whole project to PDF or CSV.
6

Bring the team

  • Share invites teammates by email; they sign up and see the same board.
  • Mentions reach people wherever they are: a badge on the toolbar icon, an inbox in the app, and an email.
  • Everything runs on Marko's hosted backend — sign up and go, nothing to deploy or configure.

Built in

Everything a review needs, nothing you don't.

One extension replaces screenshot tools, spreadsheets, and endless email threads.

Element-anchored pins

Pins lock onto page elements and stay put through scrolling, resizing, and reloads.

Threads & mentions

Comment threads with @mentions, image attachments, and resolve states.

Annotated screenshots

Arrows, boxes, pen, text, and a px ruler, captured with OS, browser, and viewport metadata.

Kanban triage

Drag reports between severity columns. Filter by status, device, assignee, and due date.

Design inspectors

Element, typography, and color inspectors with one-click copy CSS and selector.

Private by default

Projects are visible only to their members; pin screenshots are access-controlled so nobody outside the team can load them.

Questions

Before you install.

Everything below is answered from how Marko actually ships today.

Is Marko really free?

Yes — free forever, open source under the MIT licence. There is no paid tier to upgrade to.

Do I need a Google account to sign in?

No. You sign up with an email and password. There is no Google or other third-party identity provider in the loop.

Does Marko track what I browse?

No. There is zero analytics and no tracking, and nothing leaves your device unless you choose to share it.

Do I have to host a backend?

No. Marko ships with a hosted backend, so you sign up and start reviewing — nothing to deploy or configure.

Can teammates see my reports?

Only the ones you invite. Projects are visible to their members alone, and pin screenshots are access-controlled so nobody outside the team can load them. Use Share to invite people by email; they sign up and see the same board.

Why does the Firefox install need repeating?

Firefox and Zen load the extension as a temporary add-on, and those are removed when the browser restarts. On Zen you can make it permanent with the optional about:config step in the install section.

What happens to a pin when the page changes?

Pins anchor to real page elements, so they survive scrolling, resizing, and reloads. Each one also stores a cropped screenshot of the element as it looked when you filed it.

Can I get the reports out of Marko?

Yes. Every project exports to PDF or CSV from the board in the web app.
